The other day I was scrolling through Instagram and stumbled across an incredible picture of a milkshake. Now, this was not your typical diner milkshake. It was overflowing with ice cream, Oreos and huge chunks of brownies. Covered in chocolate and sprinkles, I knew I needed to recreate this mouthwatering concoction.
As much as I love chocolate, and I mean LOVE, I’ve decided to attempt a strawberry milkshake instead. For one, I can justify strawberries as being healthier than milk chocolate. Plus, my kids could probably consume 3 pounds of strawberries if I let them. While I would hardly consider this treat to be “healthy” it’s all about balance right?
My milkshake starts with strawberry frozen yogurt, vanilla almond milk and fresh juicy strawberries. Then for the fun part. Add an excessive amount of whip cream, cookies and sprinkles. But as you can see I didn’t stop there. We had a few miniature donuts on hand, strawberry wafers and lots of candy.
Ok, I know it looks intense, but it was so simple! That’s the great thing about milkshakes, you can make them however you want! There is no secret recipe, or right way to do it. All you do is blend your ingredients together (I use the Magic Bullet) and create your masterpiece with whatever treats you have on hand. B had so much fun, he’s convinced me to throw a milkshake party next weekend with all of his friends.
A tip I would suggest is to rim your glass with frosting, so the cookies and candy stick. Are you drooling yet? I found that placing the glass in the refrigerator while I made the milkshake allowed the frosting to harden so the cookies didn’t fall off. Pour the milkshake in your glass and garnish with desired toppings.
What type of milkshake would you make? Pin now, enjoy later!!!
