School has officially begun, which means one thing- IT’S TIME TO CELEBREATE! Don’t get me wrong, I love my tiny humans, but this day couldn’t have come soon enough! So, without further ado, here are 5 Fun Ways To Celebrate The First Day Of School- PARENTS EDITION!
Go To The Beach
Yes we spent 90% of our summer at the beach, but with two kids, it was hardly relaxing. Now, I’m able to do whatever I want at the beach. Read a book, float on my unicorn, or go snorkeling! I can stay as long or as little as I’d like, and I don’t have to share my Sparkling Ice with anyone! Floating and sipping solo sounds like the perfect afternoon if you ask me.
Binge Watch Television
And no my friends, I am not talking about Seasons 1 and 2 of Sophia The First, I’m talking real television here. No distractions, no interruptions… just me and Criminal Minds. And popcorn. And possibly some chocolate.
Take A Nap
It’s true, us moms never sleep! And now that school is in session, our days are even busier than before. Luckily, baby girl is in daycare three times a week which means lots of naps in my near future. We recently purchased a hammock for our patio, so I’m pretty sure I’ll be taking permanent residency swinging outside.
Get A Pedicure
Do I even need to elaborate?
Enjoy A Cocktail
Not just any cocktail, but a celebratory Black Raspberry Mojito! Grab a few girlfriends and have a mom’s afternoon in- because that’s totally a thing! Or if you’re feeling really classy, enjoy a glass poolside. And by poolside, I mean sit in lawn chairs by the kiddie pool.
- 2 oz. white rum
- 4 oz. club soda
- 2 oz. Black Raspberry Sparkling Ice
- 3 mint leaves
- 4-5 blackberries
- 1 tbsp. simple syrup
- 1 lime wedge
- Ice (optional)
- Start by adding the lime, mint, blackberries and simple syrup into a cocktail shaker. Using a muddle, grind ingredients into a pulp.
- Pour all contents into your favorite glass.
- Then add ice, rum, club soda and Black Raspberry Sparkling ice.
- Mix well and garnish if desired.
- Omit the rum for a fun mocktail
With all of this new found freedom, what do you have planned?
