I don’t know about you, but we took full advantage of the gorgeous weather last weekend. It allowed us to get out of the house and enjoy a few outdoor activities. And thanks to Walmart, we were able to find everything we needed, including Goldfish® crackers!
Since our move is right around the corner, we’ve been spending as much time as possible with all of our friends. And because everyone has had major cabin fever, we’ve put together a neighborhood relay race for all of the kids. My husband is all about physical activity, so he was in charge of creating the obstacle course.
The kids are divided up into two teams, 2 participants per team. Once the first kid finishes the course, then the next teammate is able to start. The first team for all participants to finish, wins.
First, the kids would start by spinning around in a circle 3 times. Then run as fast as possible to the next checkpoint where they would walk the “plank” which was really a 2 x 4. Once that is complete, they must shoot the ball into the basket and run to the finish line.
Everyone had such a blast! The kids were so excited to race one another, and the parents were on the sidelines cheering everyone on. We spent time together as a family, while enjoying the outdoors. Win- win situation if you ask me. I think my favorite part of this entire experience, beside being out in the sun, was watching the kids faces light up when they received their Goldfish® crackers medal.
The Snack That Smiles Back®
Although there was only one winning team, everyone was a winner for participating and working together. Not only are the medals adorable, but it was the perfect snacking solution for a job well done.
Plus, they were super easy to make! And Walmart made it even easier to stock up on everyone’s favorite snack.
All you need is:
Metal storage containers
Gold Washi tape
Small plastic bag
Hot glue gun
Start by covering the sides of the metal storage container with Washi tape. Cut the ribbon to the desired length and adhere to the back of the container with hot glue. Once that is cooled, cover the back with Washi tape. Then, fill the small plastic bag with Goldfish® crackers and insert into the container.
