Who else is ridiculously excited about Halloween? There’s something about this time of year that always makes me feel like a kid again. I love dressing up, decorating my house and creating spooky treats. And it makes me so happy that my son shares the same excitement as I do. In fact, this weekend we plan to go costume shopping and watch a Halloween favorite, Hocus Pocus.
This Saturdays mommy and son date night involves everything Halloween! We picked up ingredients to make Hocus Pocus Brew, Scary Sloppy Joes and Monster Chip Cookies. But everyone needs fancy stemware to drink out of, right?!? Which brings me to our fun, and inexpensive craft.
While B and I were rummaging through the house, getting any ideas for our upcoming night, we stumbled across the first aid kit. Which was conveniently stocked with medical gauze.
Mummy Cups! I saw many tutorials on Pinterest using old jars as spooky candles, which inspired my mummified drink ware.
All you need is:
Cup of any kind
Double sided tape
This was so simple I just sat back and watched B do the entire thing. I was simply there for moral support, and to take pictures of course. All you do is attach one end of gauze to the bottom of the cup using a small piece of double sided take. Then, generously wrap the cup like a mummy, leaving an opening for the eyes. Once you’re satisfied with how it looks, attach the gauze to the cup. Using a small piece of tape, adhere the eyes to the cup at the opening.
Easy peezy! Didn’t he do an awesome job?!
Now we are fully prepared to sip in style! This would also be an awesome idea for a Halloween party. Simply use plastic cups and crate paper, fill with your favorite poison and enjoy! Note: I did run out of gauze and had used crate paper, worked just as well 🙂
Pin now, sip later
