Thanksgiving is officially over, which means it’s time to start decorating. As a kid, my parents always put up the tree the weekend prior to Thanksgiving. But I on the other hand, like to wait until after.
So, instead of Black Friday shopping, we stayed in our pajamas, ate pie for breakfast, and started to decorate to our favorite Christmas music. I helped B make snowball truffles, and he helped me make our Holiday Wreath. I couldn’t have asked for a better day.
With the exception of our tree, and maybe our advent calendar; one of my favorite pieces of décor would have to be our homemade wreath. I love how simple and inexpensive it is, plus it took me less than 20 minutes! I reuse the same grapevine for all my seasonal wreaths, so storage is never an issue. Not to mention how much money I’m saving!
All you need is:
1 Grapevine wreath
Assorted floral stems
4-5 Zip ties or wire
As you can see the first step I did was remove the leaves and bow from the grapevine. Keeping the letter in the same spot, place your stems on the grapevine to gauge where to trim the ends.
Once that is finished, and you like how it looks, take the zip ties and secure each stem to the wreath. Also, if you’re using more than 2 stems, you may want to create 2 bouquets before attaching to the wreath, as I did in my Spring Wreath. Lastly, using another zip tie, attach the bow where the 2 stems meet.
And just like that, I’ve transformed my Fall Wreath into a simple Christmas wreath!
