Growing up in Michigan, I was very fortunate to spend my summers surrounded by water. Whether it was water skiing on Lake Huron, fishing in the Upper Peninsula, or lounging by the pool- spending time in the water has always been my favorite summer activity. And to be honest, not much has changed. Since moving, we’ve been beach bound almost every weekend.
Luckily, my two littles are no strangers to the water. In fact, getting them to leave is my biggest challenge. So, when brainstorming summer activities for our family, it was only natural that most of them include water. While we’ve already done a fair share of exploring, there is still so much more I’d love to experience. With the help from my friends at Discover Boating, I have been able to plan future excursions, as well as educate myself more about the boating lifestyle.
Whether you’re a seasoned sailor, or just getting your feet wet, they have something for everyone!
Go To The Beach
Search for beach glass, have a picnic, or relax while listening to the waves crash ashore.
Go Scuba Diving
I am so not brave enough, but hubby loves it. In fact, he has an entire bucket list dedicated solely to scuba diving. Including Sharks Pit, Barracuda Rock and Seabee Junkyard; which consists of equipment from WWII.
I’ve lived near water my entire life, yet I’ve never been sailing. So the fact that I stumbled across information regarding sailing schools, is extremely exciting! This would be perfect for hubby and myself!
My husband and I both love going snorkeling, and we’re so excited that our son shares the same passion.

We’ve recently starting looking into purchasing a boat. Of course we’re still in the early stages, but I love all of the resources Discover Boating offers. There’s a lot to take into consideration when buying a boat, more than I thought in fact. But rest assured, anything you need to know is at your fingertips!

Whether it’s a backyard pool, community pool, or kiddie pool- taking a quick dip will surely cool you off.
