Being a military family we’re constantly away from our friends and family, but this year for Mother’s Day I get the opportunity to spend it with all the amazing women in my life.
Finding the perfect gift to celebrate their hard work, continuous support and unconditional love doesn’t need to be expensive. In fact, as a mother the most meaningful gifts I’ve ever received have been homemade from my kids.
This simple DIY coconut coffee body scrub is the perfect way to pamper all the moms in your life. To let her know exactly how important she is. Let’s be honest, with the most demanding job around- we could all use some pampering.
All you need is:
1/2 c coffee grounds
1/2 c brown sugar
1/4 c + 2 tbsp. coconut oil
Combine all ingredients in small bowl, mix well. Download gift tag here
I love using this body scrub because it helps hydrate my skin, reduces swelling and can prevent premature skin aging. Coffee is loaded with antioxidants which is the component that helps keep your skin youthful. The caffeine in coffee is known to act as an anti-inflammatory and may help reduce the appearance of cellulite.
Brown sugar isn’t just for baking- it actually helps keep your skin hydrated by drawing moisture back into your skin. As opposed to white sugar, brown is gentler on the skin, ideal for those with sensitivities like myself. The tiny sugar particles help exfoliate dead skin away, leaving you with a natural healthy glow.
Coconut oil contains vitamin-e which helps keep skin smooth and prevents premature aging. The proteins in coconut oil also promote healthy tissue repair.
In addition to all the benefits of this homemade sugar & coffee scrub it’s fun and easy to make! Add a loofa, candle and hand lotion to provide her with the ultimate relaxation experience. Who would have ever thought that creating an in home spa could be so easy and budget friendly.
