Living the Navy lifestyle I knew we would experience our fair share of moving, but nothing can prepare you for the final months in your own home. Unfortunately, this will be our last summer in Virginia. So as a family, we vowed to spend every second enjoying it. That is what inspired me to create a summer family bucket list. Each day of the week is equipped with a different themed activity to keep kids and parents happy!
Make It Monday is all about tapping into your creative side. On this day we will try new recipes and create new crafts.
Travel Tuesday is spent out of the house. Travel to a park, or the movie theatre. While staying at home is fun- exploring new places is exciting too!
Water Wednesday we are so lucky to live by the beach that it would almost be a sin to not visit weekly. Not close to a beach? Visit a water park, or pool. My kids are even happy to run through a sprinkler.
Think Thursday everyday we make an effort to do schoolwork, but every once in a while it’s fun to mix things up. Go to the library instead of reading on the sofa. Or do math under a shady tree compared to sitting at the table.
Funky Friday our family lives on structure, but on Fridays we let loose! No guidelines, no plans- just fun! If we want to sleep in, no problem! Breakfast for dinner, yes please!
I tried to be as realistic as possible when creating this agenda. Lets be honest, I cannot go on an adventure every single day. With the right amount of planning, summer can still be exciting and educational. What does your family have planned this summer?
